JUSTIN BUOEN
Justin.png

Justin Buoen is the founder of KBO Group. Justin’s first major project at the KBO Group was to serve as a Senior Advisor to the Democratic National Committee helping to elect President Joe Biden in battleground states. He also isn't new to working on Expos, helping lead the United States of America’s bid for the 2027 World’s Fair- themed Healthy People Healthy Planet, Well-Being for All.
 

Prior to founding his firm, Justin served as the national campaign manager for Senator Amy Klobuchar’s 2020 Presidential Campaign. In that role, he oversaw all aspects of the campaign, from establishing and implementing strategy to fundraising, policy development and communications.
 

Earlier in his career, Justin helped open and lead the Midwest division of New Partners Consulting, a national political and corporate consulting firm. As a consultant, he worked with a variety of clients outside the realm of politics, including Xcel Energy, the Miami Dolphins, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences—which annually hosts the Oscars—and Green Minneapolis. He was also a member of the 2018 Super Bowl Bid Committee that successfully obtained hosting rights for Minneapolis.
 

Justin is also a veteran of city, congressional, gubernatorial and other presidential campaigns. Some of his past Minnesota clients include Governor Tim Walz and Governor Mark Dayton. He is a longtime adviser to Senator Klobuchar and that association includes the position of campaign manager for her reelection to the U.S. Senate in 2012. Justin is a regular guest speaker at the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. He has debated at the prestigious Oxford Union in England, lectured at the Yale Politics Initiative, the Harvard Kennedy School and also appeared on national television and radio as a political analyst and commentator or spokesperson.
 

Justin is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a degree in political science. He is active in the Twin Cities volunteer community. In addition to his work on the Hennepin Theater Trust Board, he serves on the M Health Fairview Foundation Board and is on the advisory board of the Sanneh Foundation. He also works with local youth sports programs. Justin lives in Arden Hills with his wife, Linh, sons Phillip, Roger and Henry.

Brad is a leading marketing and advertising executive with more than 35 years of experience as Vice President | Procter & Gamble, President | Church & Dwight, CEO | Dial Corporation, Executive Chairman | Dymatize Nutrition, Executive Chairman and CEO | OH Partners Advertising, and now CEO and Co-Founder | Heart & Soul Marketing, LLC.
 

He has worked in large public companies, private equity-backed firms, plus private and emerging companies. The consistent themes that run through each of these career passages include: building stronger, faster growing brands; applying a thorough understanding of consumer and shopper needs to solving brand awareness and revenue issues, and creating breakthrough marketing plans that make deeper human connections. 
 

During his 17 years in Arizona, he has been recognized twice by the Phoenix Business Journal as a Most Admired Leader, and served on a number of prestigious boards and councils: Board | Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Board | Greater Phoenix Leadership Council, Board of Directors | Grand Canyon Education, Vice Chairman | Scottsdale Unified School District Foundation, and Board | Global Institute of Sustainability (GIOS) at Arizona State University.

HEATHER EICHELE

Heather Eichele is the Vice President of Client Success at Heart & Soul Marketing and a veteran, senior leader in multiple advertising agencies, including some of the largest in the world.

 

Heather has an impressive history of leading successful brand strategy/insights, marketing, advertising, and integrated campaigns including digital and social for national and global brands. 
 

Heather has a diverse background and experience in retail, consumer electronics, health brands, consumer packaged goods, and luxury brands, including brands headquartered in Asia.
 

Heather is proud to be from a military family and grew up overseas in England, Germany and Spain. She currently sits on a variety of non-profit boards and is secretary of the Women’s Auxiliary for the American Legion Post 41.

Takayuki Hioki

Takayuki Hioki is the CEO of Sports Marketing Group located in Osaka and Tokyo Japan. Most recently, he served as the Deputy Chief Ceremony Officer and Executive Producer for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.
 

 

He began his career at Hakuhodo Inc, one of the largest media and marketing agencies in Japan and spent time as the Marketing Manager of FIFA World Cup 2002.
 

Hioki founded Sports Marketing Group Japan in 2008 and Sports Branding Japan (SBJ) in 2012. With these organizations, Hioki has led the Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Baseball, the strategic planning and digital media operation for top US Sports Leagues such as NFL, NBA, UFC, ESPN and WWE.
 

 

In recent years, SBJ has secured deals with the National Football League, News Corp (Digital Media) and ESPN as their lead sponsorship & engagement agency in Japan.

TED JOHNSON

Ted Johnson has spent three decades helping high-profile organizations succeed.
 

As the Founder and CEO of Norden Strategies, Johnson helps clients achieve their Big Ideas. Projects range from negotiation of sports naming rights to Minnesota’s largest affordable housing development to LaunchPad Golf’s first fore into the United States. He is often sought after as a broker of public-private ventures like the development of a five-property theater district in Minneapolis for Hennepin Arts or working alongside the U.S Department of State for the Expo 2027 campaign and the USA Pavilion at the 2025 World’s Fair in Osaka, Japan.
 

Prior to founding Norden Strategies, Johnson spent seventeen years as a senior executive with the Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx organization. He served nine years as Chief Marketing officer and five years as Chief Strategy Officer. Johnson also served as a Governor in the G-League and led the organization's effort to establish the two newest franchises; The Iowa Wolves (G-League) and T-Wolves Gaming (NBA2K League.)
 

For nearly all seventeen of his years, he was responsible for leading most of the organization’s highest-profile initiatives. Notable efforts include spearheading the development of an award-winning training center at Mayo Clinic Square and overseeing the $140 million dollar Target Center renovation. He also led the bid to secure the 2018 WNBA All Star Game, the Timberwolves participation in various NBA Global Games and the two-year rebranding efforts of all four franchises. Johnson served as the spokesperson for the organization and became one of sports’ most experienced crisis managers.


Johnson’s work has been widely recognized including two regional Emmy awards, two Gold Sabers, a Silver Anvil, and nearly three dozen other industry awards. He also secured five championship rings --four with the Minnesota Lynx and one with T-Wolves Gaming.
 

Johnson’s early career was spent managing campaigns for clients, policy issues and political candidates. As a director with public relations agency Weber Shandwick, Johnson co-created the award-winning anti-tobacco campaign for the Minnesota Department of Health. In politics, he spent nearly a decade serving the Minnesota State Senate, Congressman James L. Oberstar, Clinton/Gore campaigns of 1992 and 1996, the Minnesota Attorney General’s office and as deputy campaign manager for Hubert H. Humphrey III’s gubernatorial campaign. Johnson also spent time between 1994 and 1996 on the White House advance staff of President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton.
 

Johnson is an honors graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He is active in the Twin Cities community serving on more than a dozen non-profit boards including the Minnesota State Fair Foundation, Serving Our Troops, Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce (Board Chair), Minnesota Sports and Events, and Ronald McDonald House Charities. A Twin Cities native, Johnson currently resides in Shoreview, MN with his wife and two children.

Matt is a creative entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience in advertising, broadcast television, and branded content creation. Prior to Heart & Soul Matt has helped start or grow 2 other successful advertising agencies and 2 production companies.
 

Matt’s production experience includes work for ESPN, Fox Sports, MTV-Vh1, and PBS, plus The White House & US State Department.  
 

Matt and his teams have won more than 100 National Advertising Awards including Addys, Reggies & Emmys. Matt was also recently named the “2020 Creative Professional of the Year” and also the “Chief Marketing Officer of the Year”.  
 

Matt’s creative work includes Consumer Packaged Goods clients like Armor All, STP, Bar S Foods, Fiorucci Foods, Bitchin Sauce and more!
 

And retail clients like Nissan North American and Hyundai Motor America. Matt’s creative work also includes clients like Virgin Hotels and Wynn Resorts, plus destination marketing work for Phoenix Convention Center, Prescott Economic Development, and the Sedona Chamber of Commerce.

MEGAN NASHBAN KENNEY

Megan Nashban Kenney is a co-founder and partner at Orlattle. Nashban brings a focus of strategy, campaign management, fundraising, development, and partnerships to any project she joins. Based in Washington, D.C., Megan has focused on helping clients ranging from individual candidates and elected officials, to advocacy organizations, campaign committees and public private partnerships turn ideas into action, actions into results, and results into change. Past and current clients have included U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar and her 2020 Presidential Campaign Amy for America, Ben Jealous for Governor, Sara Jacobs for California, Need to Impeach, the Jewish Labor Committee, Latino Victory Fund, USA World Expo 2027 Host Committee and more.

Nashban Kenney previously served as the Grassroots Fundraising Manager at Hillary for America where she designed and spearheaded the launch of the national grassroots fundraising program, a first of its kind program, raising over $3.73 million from over 20,000 donors in less than 4 months. Before joining Secretary Clinton’s 2016 President race, Megan was the Development Director and one of the first employees at Americans for Responsible Solutions (ARS), the gun violence prevention organization founded in January 2013 by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and her husband, Captain Mark Kelly. In that role, she was responsible for the creation and oversight of one of the nation’s largest constituencies for 527 and c4 fundraising and raised over $35 million from over 250,000 contributions in the formative years of the organization’s beginnings. Prior to that, Megan was the Northeast Finance Director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) led by Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Chairman Steve Israel. Before joining the DCCC Megan served as the Finance Director on the 2010 re-election campaign of Congressman Frank Kratovil (MD-01), whose district at the time was an R+13 district and a part of the DCCC Frontline Program.

Megan earned her B.A. in Government and Gender and Women’s Studies at Connecticut College in New London, CT. A New York City native, Megan lives with her husband, Dan, son Gordon and their French bulldog, Sophie, in Washington, D.C.
